Wide angle. - Image bank.

In this photograph, we can see the distortion of a wide angle in the black and white photograph of a baby in the bath. The positive point of this photograph is the camera angle, that this photograph was taken in; this is a positive factor because by taking the photograph from a high angle but keeping close to the child's head, the depth becomes focused through the body and the distance of the bath water whilst the head appears bigger. I believe that this photograph does not have a negative factor or improvement in which could be revealed.

In this photograph, we can see the distortion of a wide angle in a black and white photograph of a zebra keeping his nose close to the lens. The positive point of this photograph is how the camera is so close to the subject; this is a positive factor because it creates the focus point to land upon the eye and the stripes of this zebra. The negative point of this photograph is that the nose becomes slightly blurred and out of focus

Minimum depth of field. - Image Bank.

In this photograph, we can see the minimum depth of field of a flower laying across the moss covered rock. The positive point of this photograph is the actual minimum depth of field; this is a positive factor because it creates the soft petals of the actual flower including the colour as well, stand out perfectly for the audience. I believe that there is no negative factor or improvement that could be suggested with this photograph.

In this photograph, we can see the minimum depth of field upon a butterfly on a leaf. The positive point of this photograph is the vibrant colours against the minimum depth of field; this is a positive factor because it creates the butterfly to stand out really well as the focus point. The negative point of this photograph is the white flower on the left hand side of the butterfly; this is a negative factor because it is a cause of distraction from the focus point. As an improvement, I would suggest on turning the levels and curves down.

In this photograph, we can see the minimum depth of field upon a leaf which is also located on the side of a bench or piece of wood. The positive point of this photograph is the use of lighting and minimum depth of field; this is a positive factor because with the minimum depth of field used upon the leaf, the lighting becomes automatically focused on as it lights up the focus point. The negative point of this photograph is the minimum depth of field placed upon the front part of the wood, in front of the leaf; this is a negative factor because it's a cause of distraction. As an improvement, I could suggest that that the blur at the front can either be cropped or the photograph can be taken again at a closer angle.

In this photograph, we can see the minimum depth of field placed around the background of this green snake. The positive point of this photograph is the angle of the camera in this photograph; this is a positive factor because with the angle being in the area it is, the snake automatically becomes dominating on the audience as it glares down. The negative point of this photograph, is that there is too much blur in the background to create minimum depth of field; this is a negative factor because it becomes a cause of distraction from the focus point and ruins the point of a minimum depth of field. As an improvement, I would suggest on turning the blur down more.

In this photograph, we can see the minimum depth of field placed around the background of the group of mushrooms. The positive point of this photograph is how a certain selection of mushrooms are kept in focus whilst the rest are in a minimum depth of field; this is a positive factor because it creates the mushrooms to come into a clear focus and more defined in detail. I can not name a negative factor or suggest an improvement for this photograph.

Minimum Depth of Field - Technique.

Minimum depth of field. - Technique.

Minimum depth of field overall:

Minimum depth of field is used to sharpen the object or model in the picture whilst the background is blurred from focus. This can be done through the a large aperture. These are two of my selected overall photographs in front of both man-made background and natural background to show the contrast;

Task 1:

For our first task, we had to experiment with the focal length (mm) to reveal the differences between the focal lengths. In this task, the focal lengths were measured as 28mm, 100mm and 300 mm. These pictures are as follows;

28mm;

100mm;

300mm;

Task 2:

For our second task, we had to explore how changing the focal length (mm) can actually affect the background and the model. This effect which is created during the photograph shows how the background and the actual model can be slowly separate the model from the background depending on the focal length. These are my final photos;

300mm;

100mm;

28mm;

Image within Image. - Image Bank.

Image within Image - Image Bank.

In this photograph, we can see the selected image within image effect. This image within image effect is based upon a single model sitting down; before being placed with a photograph of a frame against the wall. The positive point of this photograph, is that the girl who is sitting down, blends in really well with the actual frame; this is a positive factor because the image within a image becomes realistic for the viewer, which furthers them into questioning on how this works. I believe that this photograph does not have a negative factor or improvement to reveal.

In this photograph, we can see another selected image placed within an image. This image within image shows a young girl on a swing, moving out of the frame and onto a more close up view of grass. The positive point of this photograph is the colour effect; this is a positive factor because by having the darkness contrast against the lightness of the other image within the frame, both images become eye catching for the viewer. The negative point of this photograph has to be the clumps of dirt and grass, shown on the right hand side of the photograph; this is a negative factor because it becomes a cause of distraction. As an improvement, I would recommend on cropping the photograph down on the left hand side, to remove the distraction.

In this photograph shown, the image within image is shown to be the image of a girls certian pose and structure from a distance, before a close up is then taken and placed inside the frame.

Sequencing. - Image Bank

Sequencing. - Image Bank.

In this photograph, we can see the the action sequence of a young Arctic fox. With this action sequencing being in stages, the fox is shown to begin with walking, before appearing in air and landing back down onto the ground, as if something was caught. The positive point of this photograph is how the background defines the Arctic fox well, this is a positive outcome because the fox becomes the main focus point of the photograph with no distractions. The negative point of this photograph is how dull the actual background is with the colour grey, this is a negative factor because it makes the photo less outstanding for the audience but also can destroy the main focus point. As an improvement, I would suggest on selecting the complete background before changing the hue and saturation. This could then create a lighter and more snow looking effect.

This action sequencing photograph, shows the appearance of a Kingfisher catching his fish before flying away. This selected photograph is so precise in colour and with also the gaussian blur, that even the smallest of water droplets in the air can be seen clearly as well as the fish located in the beak of the bird. The positive point of this photograph, is what has actually been captured with the water effects, this is a positive factor because it shows in a more high definition appearance what is really happening in which the eye cannot see. I believe that this photograph does not have a negative factor or improvement to reveal.

In this photograph, the stages of a boy on a home created rope swing on a tree above a creek is shown. As the boy starts off in the air before finally approaching the water, the action sequence has capture this all.
